Margaret River Tours (Tours MR1 & MR2)

There are two different full day tours to the Margaret River region of varying lengths, with both tours originating from Bunbury and the surrounding area (within a 15 km radius of the CBD) then down to Margaret River.

  • Margaret River Wine, Food & Scenic Tour (Tour MR1) – This is the classic wine & food tasting tour to the heart of the Margaret River region, which is an 8-hour tour, from 9:30am to 5:30pm, 7 days pw. This tour includes up to 4 wine tasting stops plus food tastings, and a one-hour lunch stop in the MR townsite, along with scenic drives & iconic coastal stops. The food stops typically include a local dairy for cheese & yoghurt tastings, a nut and cereal shop, an olive oil farm or a venison shop, plus the very popular Margaret River Chocolate Company for chocolates, ice cream or a coffee! We’ll return home the same day in order to provide the best value for the tour price, without needing an overnight stay in Margaret River.

  • Margaret River & Cape Leeuwin Tour (Tour MR2) – This is our longest full-day tour to the Margaret River region, including a scenic drive through the Boranup Karri Forest and a visit to the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse. It’s a 9-hour tour, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, 7 days pw that allows sufficient time for several unique tour stops along the way and to make the journey south to “where the two oceans meet”, namely to Augusta and Cape Leeuwin. Hang onto your hat and specs if you climb to the top of the lighthouse because the winds may be quite strong at any time of the year. But the climb for those who can do it is worthwhile because the views are incredible. If lucky, you just might spot a migrating whale or two depending on the time of year. So, bring along your camera and binoculars for this unique scenic tour! Other highlights of this tour are a scenic drive through the magnificent Boranup Karri Forest where you’ll be amazed by its beauty and want to stop for photos, including stops at the Boranup Gallery and Café, plus a coastal stop at Hamelin Bay, where you may see sting rays swimming closely along the shoreline, weather permitting. It’s also possible on this tour to visit one of the natural caves along Caves Road, if time permits.

Note: The admission fees for the cave, the lighthouse plus the cost of lunch and other beverages are not included in the SWTS tour price. However, for your convenience SWTS can make reservations for your visits to the cave and/or lighthouse, if requested prior to the tour. Then we’ll include the cost of these items in our tour price.
